August 8, 2009 is the day for the worldwide preDevCamp. That’s NEXT Saturday.
Are you going? There’s still time to go to the preDevCamp site and sign up to go to one of the many camps being set up around the world.
We think the preDevCamps are a great way for webOS developers — and people curious about webOS and wondering if they want to get involved — to learn about the platform and to meet other interested people in your local area. I want to encourage everyone to find your local camp and sign up and spend at least some time at the camp.
Palm is going to have representatives at some of the camps, including San Francisco and Kansas City. I, unfortunately, will not be at the San Francisco camp — but that’s because I’m headed to Southern California, where I am going to be splitting my time between the Orange County camp and the San Diego camp. I’m really looking forward to having a chance to meet some of the people now building interesting applications for webOS — and I might even bring a few t-shirts with me to give away.
If you haven’t yet committed to going to preDevCamp, I encourage you to do so. Over this next week I’m going to feature a couple of the camps I think are doing really interesting things to try to entice you to go to one. These camps should be a great way for newer programmers to bootstrap their way into the platform as well as a place for more experienced programmers to expand their knowledge and network.
Hope to see you at a preDevCamp next Saturday!
