Developing Mobile Apps (Stanford Lecture Series #7, #9)

2 BY Fred Patton

It’s been a while since we were able to bring you one of our Stanford lectures, but hold your breath no more! Two more episodes, #7 and #9 are now available. (Don’t worry, lecture 8 is coming.)

Lecture 7 is by Dave Balmer of Gobico Games, who shares his insights into developing games for webOS. He starts by talking about finding efficiencies in JavaScript, then dives into using Canvas, CSS transformations, and event handlers. He also sprinkles his talk with discussions about tool choices for developing in webOS. Nicely done, Dave!

In lecture 9, VP of Platform Tools Joe Hayashi gives you an overview of marketing strategies, and how they apply to mobile apps. He covers several interesting historical marketing cases, discusses why developers should care about marketing, and how to decide the best way to market your app. You won’t want to miss this one!
